The Konbini Layer.

A New NipponHomes Feature.

No one really asked for this…
(okay, maybe a few people 😅)

But we thought it would be fun , and genuinely useful , so we added it anyway.

People love Japanese convenience stores. I know more than a few people who went to Japan and basically lived off konbini food.

Everyone has a favorite:

  • 7‑Eleven Japan

  • Lawson

  • FamilyMart

  • And if you’ve spent time in Hokkaido… Seicomart

(For the record, I think I’m a Lawson guy.)

New on NipponHomes: Konbini Layer

You can now toggle on a Konbini map layer on NipponHomes.com.

It’ll show **every convenience store in Japan & **labels which chain it is

So now you can see how close your future home in Japan is too a Konbini and hopefully its your favorite one..

For me, being near a convenience store is huge for a automated cappuccino.

I have a espresso machine at home so I almost exclusively drink cappuccinos.

Most “craft” coffee shops in Japan don’t open at 6am like in the US, they usually open around 10am for the slow, sit-down crowd. konbini fill that gap in a huge way.

However you use your local konbini, this layer makes it way easier to judge what day-to-day life in a neighborhood will actually feel like.

You could even just use it to see where konbini’s are on your vacation..

I don’t think there’s another place on the internet where you can find this..

Small feature.
Big quality-of-life upgrade.
